Guided Cape Town City Walking Tour

Guided walking tour through Cape Town and learn about its rich history

What you’ll do
Explore Cape Town and its heritage on a safe, guided city experience

We take you to a 17th-century water reservoir, the historic Grand Parade lined by the Castle, the old Drill Hall, and the magnificent City Hall. We introduce you to stunning architecture, murals, the popular flower market, and along the route you will pass Church Square, the Groote Kerk, and the original Slave Lodge.

We will walk into the former Dutch East India Company Garden, today a green oasis in the middle of town. Here we focus on the parliamentary buildings, the National Library, direct you to the SA Museum, the National Art Gallery and
Jewish Museum before retracing our steps to St. George’s Cathedral, the “Peoples’ Cathedral”.

Then we leave the city centre behind and find our way to the original Muslim area of Cape Town, the Bo-Kaap. It is famed today for its quaint, colourful houses, but our story goes deeper than that… From there we weave back towards
the city and Greenmarket Square. We do not enter museums – but buildings where history took place. Come and experience the real Cape Town.

An optional extra at R550 per person: Cape Malay cooking class; Learn to roll rotis, fry chilli bites, cook curry, and wrap samoosas. Suitable for vegetarians and vegans. This class is a unique way to bond with friends whilst experiencing something new in this cultural culinary experience. The cooking class always ends with an intimate lunch or dinner in the home of the local. A typical class lasts 2,5hrs including the meal and includes dessert and tea. Please do let us know if you would like to include this experience in your itinerary.
